Learn about the one of a kind film festival in your own backyard.

Film Festival ImageChange Through Film

The Colorado Environmental Film festival was started in 2006 with a mission to educate, connect, and inspire communities through film. For 18 years, The CEFF has brought an exciting and energizing event that includes world-class environmental films with representatives from local and national organizations. The festival includes both feature-length and short films by foreign, local, and young filmmakers.

The Colorado School of Mines will be hosting the festival on February 22-25 in the Green Center. Tickets are available on their website and if you are unable to see the festival in person, there are online viewing options available immediately after. Additionally, previous years' films are also available to watch on demand. If you are interested in what is going on in the world in regards to the environment, there are many films on these lists that you do not want to miss.

See Films with Meaning

This year, CEFF will screen 66 films selected from 250+ submissions from 38 different countries. There will be 15 world premieres and 25 Colorado premieres, offering attendees a first look at some of the world’s most anticipated and important environmental films. The festival covers a wide array of themes concerned with different aspects of the environment - both globally and in our own backyards. Subjects for this year's films include various water crises around the world, endangered species, oil and plastic use, and more. For the full list of films, view their website.

Learn More and Get Involved

Not many know that the festival is supported by only 2 part-time staff and over 100 dedicated volunteers who, over the year, review over 130 hours of film to select the best new films to screen each year. They are always looking for more volunteers so take a look at their website to learn how to get involved.

CEFF joined On Tap in 2019. We felt it was important to keep our banking local to Golden, something we prioritizes in seeking new partners. Anytime we can choose a Golden business, we will. It’s great to be just down the street with a local team that is helpful and responsive to our needs..”
